Los Chiles

On our way to Los Chiles, we stopped in the town of Muella, which has hundreds of these iguanas basking in the trees:

Plenty of birds and critters out on the river, including this basilisk lizard, sometimes called the "Jesus Christ lizard" for its habit of running upright across the water when it's startled:

An Anhinga, spreading its wings to dry:

Blue heron:

And, in case, we were any doubt of our proximity to the Nicaraguan border:
