There's more to the Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal itself is simply the jewel in a magnificent garden with other buildings made in red sandstone to set off its white marble. This is the view from the Taj looking back over the reflecting pond to the entrance gates:
This is a mosque that flanks the Taj on one side:



On the opposite flank is a similar building, the Jam'at Khanah except that it lacks the mihrab the mosque has for indicating the direction of Mecca for prayer; both the mosque and the Jam'at Khanah were built between 1631 and 1648:
