The main business in Walvis (Whale) Bay is no longer whales, but oysters. There are about 8 million in the Bay at any given time, growing on lines strung from plastic barrel floats:
Pelicans are attracted to the tour boats by fish

A cheeky gull hopes for a nibble
There's a large fur seal colony here in Walvis Bay, too:
Junior, a seal acclimated to the tourist boats by fish handouts, is quite happy to come aboard and be petted and have his picture taken, so long as the fish holds out...
A winsome fellow, you can see by the external ears that he's not a true seal.
