The outskirts of Dresden

Most of you know I've long been passionate about historic preservation, so you can imagine how much I enjoyed a slow drive through neighborhoods full of houses so different from those we have in Pasadena:

Even the manhole covers are artistic!

A famous Dresden milk bar, although they are so burdened with tourists that the staff are all but hostile to visitors, even if you're buying something - still, it's walled and floored with beautifully decorated tile:
