A tour of the oases

One day, we took Toyota 4x4s out onto an oasis circuit, scrambling up the tail end of the Atlas mountain range to visit three villages that had been destroyed by rain in 1969 and rebuilt. On the way, we saw some wild camels with young drinking from a pool.

The first was Chebika, which has a pristine spring that puts out 70° water into a pool with croaking frogs that sounded more like birds chirping. This is a view of the destroyed former village.
