Crazy house

One of Dalat's more entertaining attractions is the Hang Nga Guesthouse and Gallery, better known as the crazy house, a fantasy arrangement of interlocking structures that just sort of grew like Topsy! Built by a Moscow-trained Vietnamese architect for whom the guesthouse is named (and believe me, there's nothing like this in Moscow...), everything is shaped like forms found in nature (except that they're realized in ferro-concrete) and interspersed with animal forms.



You can actually stay in the guesthouse, which has a lot of different rooms, all decorated in their own unique style, but of course, the downside is you have to vacate during the day to accommodate the hordes of tourists poking into every nook and cranny. Still...
