Pre Rup & Artisans d'Angkor

We were unlucky with our sunsets at Angkor, but still, the Pre Rup ('Turn' or 'Change, the Body') temple, also dedicated to Shiva and built in the second half of the tenth century, is lovely; it was probably a crematory temple originally.

One of the nicer things to discover on my return to Cambodia is a serious effort to support and train craftspeople in wood, textile, stonecarving and other traditional arts. The lead in this is the organization Artisans d'Angkor, which has places all over the area.. This particular shop emphasizes wood carving and weaving
