Hoi An to My Son

On this day's outing, we saw a funeral procession on our way out of Hoi An

A roadside stand selling gongs of all types -- dinner, anyone?

A wonderful ceramic mosaic dragon at a temple en route.

My Son (pronounced mee-sahn), is a Cham site built between the late fourth century and the fourteenth century, at which point it drifted into obscurity, not to be rediscovered until the French went there in the mid-1900s. The Viet Cong used My Son as a base during the Vietnam war, so bombing campaigns by the U.S. ruined many structures. My Son is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
