The Cruise to Moscow -- Svirstroy

Well, it is called the "Russian Waterways" tour, so it was inevitable that at some point we would have to get on the water for the cruise to Moscow. Our ship, the M.S. Rossia, took us the 800 miles south through 18 locks, one of which you see below, and across the two largest lakes in Europe, Ladoga and Onega.

The village of Svirstroy, where we stopped to poke about in the shops and admire the lovely gardens of the houses

The owner of this house, Diana, and her grand-daughter Olga, who is studying English in school, hosted us for lunch
