Tretyakov Gallery & around Moscow

The State Tretyakov Art Gallery, named for Pavel and Sergei Tretyakov, whose salon encouraged many Russian artists; upon the death of Sergei, Pavel founded Russia's first public museum of national art and donated their collection of 3500 paintings, drawings and sculptures to the city of Moscow.
