Uglich to Moscow

A last image of Uglich before we reboard the M.S. Rossia and sail toward Moscow

All the hydroelectric plants and other waterway construction projects done during Stalin's time drowned more than a few towns. Below is the belfry tower of the drowned church of St. Nicholas in the former town of Kalyazin. Built in 1800, it was submerged in the 1950s by the Uglich hydroelectric powerplant project.

We dock in Moscow!
