The area where the founders' statue is is quite marshy and beautiful, with a floating restaurant moored nearby:

And the statue is very popular with wedding parties, who line up to turn their backs on the bronze ship and throw their bouquets over their backs into the ship. Then there's champagne all around to everyone -- friends, family and tourists alike!

A couple of flower girls in their pretty dresses, no doubt wondering why total strangers want to take their photographs. Don't you love the cornrows on the blonde?
