We decided to go out to the Sofitel Vinpearl Resort, a very upscale resort being built on Cam Rahn Bay, accessible only by boat or funicular -- guess which we preferred?
Sort of a Disneyland for grown-ups...
...but the best soft-shell crab I have ever tasted!
Later, we went to Mieu Island to a place where they make the ubiquitous fish sauce you get everywhere when you order spring rolls. I had heard about fish sauce from a Burmese man who used to work for me, but frankly, the entire process sounded pretty disgusting. However, after many weeks or months, the result is a wonderful pale clear sauce which, with a bit of pepper flakes, is wonderful!
