Giving thanks

This is a passageway from the square at St. Mark's church to the Cathedral Square. It's called the Stone Gate (from the Middle Ages, but rebuilt in the 18th C.) and under the arch in the photo is a miraculous painting of the Virgin rescued from a fire in 1731. Because of that, people still pray and leave offerings here.
