Itea to Delphi

There was a strike on in Athens (when isn't there?) which closed the Corinth Canal and the port of Piraeus, so we had to go overland to Delphi through the little town of Itea. Crossing the Gulf of Corinth from Corfu to Itea, we passed under the elegant Rio-Antiro Bridge, the longest multi-span cable-stayed bridge in the world, which connects the Peloponnese with mainland Greece.

Traveling to Delphi from Itea is a steep climb...

A canal follows the road, bringing fresh water down from the mountains to the town and surrounding farmland.
