Dancing White Lady Spider

One of the denizens of the dunes is the Dancing White Lady spider, which doesn't make a web, but instead makes a silk-lined burrow in the dunes. It's sometimes called the wheel spider for its habit of cartwheeling down the dunes to escape predator wasps. Here's the burrow of one that Rudy found:


She's a big girl, eh? They can get up to 20cm in size:
