Graigeunamanagh & Duiske Abbey

After overnighting in Enniscorthy, we struck out for Kilkenny, stopping along the way at the little town of Graiguenamanagh (try saying that three times fast...).

Graiguenamanagh is the site of Duiske Abbey. Most of the buildings of the original abbey are ruins, have been built over, or are not accessible, but the church itself is very pretty.

 The roof had fallen in at one point, so this wood ceiling, built without nails or screws, replaces what would have been the original soaring stone ceiling.
