Perhaps it was the dreary weather or our high expectations, but we both found the Ring of Kerry to be a bit of an anti-climax. It's beautiful, to be sure, but our views were curtailed by low lying clouds and mist.
We did come across a wonderful ruined Royal Irish constabulary building along the road - they served at one time as game-keepers in the area:
