Amalfi Duomo Crypt

The crypt is simply gorgeous - all colors of marble used on the floors and walls, with ceilings equisitely painted.  This huge bronze of St. Andrew was done by a pupil of Michelangelo and is  flanked by statues done by Bernini’s father. It’s all been half-cleaned in a recent spate of restoration, the rest to be completed this coming winter.

Look closely and you can see where the cleaned side meets the uncleaned side right in the middle, directly over St. Andrew.
