Sant’Ivo alla Sapienta and the singular delights of Roman architecture and design

Another day, we returned to the church near Piazza Navona that we’d wanted to see earlier, another of Borromini’s Baroque beauties, Sant’Ivo alla Sapienta, dedicated in 1660. Built for the palace of the University of Rome, it has a plan resembling a Star of David and an unusual corkscrew lantern on the dome.








Lovely, eh?  But then, Rome is full of architectural and design wonders:
