On the way out of Erzurum, we stopped to look at some beautiful Selçuk tombs:
Old Ottoman hump-backed bridge along the way:
Doğubeyazıt sits in Turkey's easternmost district and is a good jumping off point for visiting Mt. Ararat. But it has other attractions, too, like the İshak Paşa Sarayı, begun in the 17th century, and which took three generations to complete in 1784.
It has a commanding view of the area, as you can see from this 16th century mosque in the distance:
